As seen on NBC's "The Today Show": John Cena - superstar of WWE's professional wrestling and many films, and title-holder for granting the most Make-A-Wish wishes (650!) - took a sweet detour from promoting "Matchbox: The Movie" for Apple TV to preside over a wedding.
The gentle giant didn't merely officiate the marriage of Jordan & Kyle and then make a quick exit. Following the couple's I do's at New York's famed Rainbow Room, Cena stayed on to also preside over another highly important moment at the couple's wedding; the cake cutting.
The six tiered sugary monument to the couple's lifelong commitment to each other was created by New York cake artist Deborah Lauren, owner of City Sweets & Confections.
Recently, Deborah had another cake featured by "People" Magazine within its coverage of our [magazine] cover feature photo shoot with "Chicago Med" star - and newlywed Long Island native - Torrey DeVitto at lower Manhattan's Tribeca Rooftop.
John Cena officiating a wedding and then sticking around for cake cutting is such a fun detail—most celebrity appearances feel rushed but he actually made it memorable for the couple. My partner and I have been debating whether to have a big traditional cake or just do something low-key, and honestly reading about these elaborate six-tier creations makes me want to elope and spend the budget on a honeymoon instead.
