It all began when Roman Jewelers reached out to their social media following, asking couples to share their favorite proposal photos. When Sophie and Kenny tagged theirs with #RomanJewelersRomantic, it was a show-stopping moment that inspired joy and evoked excitement in the store.
"Everyone was smiling and talking about it, so I asked our marketing team if there was something else we could do with the photo," said store co-owner, Lucy Zimmerman. And so, the billboard was born.
"They are just one of those couples that you can't help falling in love with," says Zimmerman, and it seems Central NJ is falling in love with them too. Friends, family, and even perfect strangers to the couple have been reacting to the Roman Jewelers billboard, as it elicits feelings of pure joy, mirroring the happy expressions on their faces.
The couple, who became engaged last year in Hoboken with the NYC skyline in the backdrop, are delighted with Sophie’s engagement ring – an oval diamond in a diamond halo setting. "Everyone there was welcoming and personable, we connected right away with the sales staff and owner," said the groom-to-be.
Roman Jewelers planned a billboard ad campaign around a picture, but felt it was much more than that; it was a moment that generated a feeling. For Sophie and Kenny, this is a moment they’ll forever cherish. "Now we have something fun to talk about in our future. It is an incredible opportunity."
