Dressing Up The Event: Florals & Decor By Birch Event Design

When the time came to shoot the cover for the 2018 Sophisticated Weddings: New York Edition, we brought in the décor experts from Birch Event Design to dress up the exquisite Ziegfeld Ballroom. Drawing inspiration from the design concepts utilized for the cover (and the Edition's main feature: "The Legend Lives On"), Birch completely reinvented the space for the Sophisticated Weddings Release Party, enhancing all of its spectacular elements and striking beauty.

In formulating the plan for the event's decor, Caroline Greif Goldstein, CEO of Birch Event Design, tells us, "We used similar florals in both the cover and the event, just in different colorations. For the cover, wanted to match the color of the space and simply warmly enhance it, while for the event we wanted to create a pop. This color pop, as well as placing giant arrangements with height around the room, would help add nice visuals to a crowded event where smaller details might be missed."

Even still, Birch Event Design incorporated beautiful detailed arrangements and linens by the lounges and tables where guests were seated. In their design plan, the custom-created bar by HiTECH Events was assigned to the center of the ballroom, where live musicians from 45 Riots performed on a stage behind it.

This epicenter was surrounded by high floral arrangements and models standing atop glamorous stages. "The center was the party, the drama. HiTECH and Luxe Event Rentals helped us bring our vision to life, and they helped us make effective statements throughout the venue, really adding to the magnificent event," explains Caroline.

The furniture Caroline selected from Luxe Event Rentals was more than just bold and striking- the high backs created by the couches' poles made little individual areas that had the feeling of being semi-private- like in a club- without taking away sight-lines or removing any guests who were sitting on the couches from the party and everything happening in that grand ballroom.
